Terms

Effective 21 July 2026.

Who you're buying from

Reductable is sold by Lachlan Collins, trading as reductable (ABN 51 181 152 795), of 11 Gordon Street, Sorell TAS 7172, Australia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that business, and "you" means the person or organisation buying or using Reductable. You can reach us any time at hello@reductable.com.

Your license

Buying Reductable grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the app — for one person, on as many of your own devices as you like, across every supported platform. The license never expires, and a lapsed payment can't revoke it, because nothing about the app is recurring. You may use it for personal or business purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, or share your license or its signed license file, or circumvent the licensing to unlock the app without purchasing it.

Free before you buy

Reductable is free to use up to 200 of your own nodes — no account, no card. This is a free tier, not a time-limited trial: the app never becomes read-only, and only creating a new node beyond the cap is gated (deleting one frees a slot). A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited nodes.

Updates

Incremental updates to the app you own are included free. Which platforms and operating-system versions we actively support can change over time: keeping Reductable building, running and current on any given platform or OS is something we do on a best-effort basis, and we may scale it back or stop it for a platform or OS version at any time — continued updates aren't promised forever. Owning the app is not the same as us maintaining it indefinitely; whatever you've already installed keeps working regardless. We may one day offer a paid major version as a separate product; if we do, we make no promise of a free upgrade to it — but it would be a new purchase, never a withheld update to the app you already own.

Downloading and re-downloading

For as long as we offer Reductable, you can download and re-download it — and the updates available for a platform your license covers — at no extra cost. A new device, a fresh install, or a lost copy never means buying again. If we ever stop supporting a platform or OS version, the last build we released for it stays available for you to download — we won't strand you, even where we've stopped making newer versions. Because your license is an offline signed file and the app you've installed keeps working regardless, re-downloading is simply how you get the app back or move it — not a condition of owning it. We still recommend keeping your own copy of the installer and your license file.

Add-on modules

Optional add-on modules extend the app and are one-time purchases, licensed on the same perpetual terms — not subscriptions.

Tips

The tip jar is a voluntary, pay-what-you-want gift for supporters who want to chip in beyond the price. Tips grant no additional rights or entitlements and are non-refundable.

Payments, tax & refunds

Purchases and tips on the web are sold by Polar as our Merchant of Record — Polar is the seller for the transaction and handles billing, tax and refunds through its customer portal. Purchases made through the iOS App Store are handled by Apple under its terms. If Reductable isn't for you, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, below.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under that law, or any other law that can't lawfully be excluded. Where a failure isn't a major failure, and where the law lets us limit our liability, our liability is limited to re-supplying the app or service, or refunding its price.

No other warranties, and your backups

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the guarantees above, Reductable is provided "as is", and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Because Reductable is local-first — your notes live on your own devices — keeping your own backups is your responsibility; we can't recover data we never hold.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that place.
