Write straight into a collector, and an open-only tags dashboard
Collectors take new notes where you read them, and the tags dashboard shows what’s still open.
Added
- Every open collector ends in a line for a new note. What you write there picks up the collector's filter, so it lands in that collector.
- The tags dashboard has one open-or-done filter for every tag at once. While it's on, tags with nothing to show step aside.
- One button collapses or expands every collector on a dashboard.
Improved
- Click anywhere on a dashboard collector to fold it, with a mouse as well as a finger.
- Down arrow from a collector's last note moves into its new-note line, and Tab there nests under that note.
- A Done chip on a new note can be removed before you post it.
Fixed
- Going back to the dashboard from a note you opened lands at the top, not part way down.
- Swiping to clear one new note no longer clears the others.
- A cleared Done chip no longer carries into your next note.
- Pressing Enter on a new note that holds only its search term creates nothing.
Tags you can type on Android, and clips in Help
Android keyboards keep up, and Help shows you how.
Added
- On your phone, Help shows short clips of adding, nesting, tagging, searching and saving collectors.
Improved
- Search keeps your notes on screen while it finds the first word you type.
- Bigger camera and paperclip buttons on a new note, and a notice if a photo or file can't be added.
Fixed
- On Android, typing a tag into the filter bar suggests it, and deleting what you typed no longer removes the filter's tags.
- On Android, what you type in any box counts straight away, before you finish the word.
- Filter only, from a tag's menu, filters just the pane you're in.
See your photos before you post, and finish a whole list at once
Your photos look right before you post them, and done means done all the way down.
Improved
- Photos you take while writing show just as they'll look once posted, with the tags they'll carry. Tap one to see it full screen.
- After taking a photo, the keyboard is up and ready for a caption.
- Completing a note marks everything under it as done too, in your outline and on the Gantt chart. Reopen it and they're back as they were.
- Clearer indent and outdent buttons above the keyboard.
Fixed
- On iPhone, a photo you've just taken shows as a picture on your note, not just its file name.
- The ✕ in the filter bar clears every filter, not just tags.
- The auto-post countdown no longer runs through the indent marker on a new note.
Link previews, a tags dashboard, and auto-tags you can see
Links read like what they point to, and every tag has a home.
Added
- A tags dashboard: the new # tab, left of your first dashboard, shows each of your tags with its notes.
- Link previews show the site's icon, including on links you saved before.
Improved
- Link previews lead with the page title, and long links show as a short, readable address until you edit them.
- Images in notes show at their real shape, and tapping one opens it full screen.
- Photos and files you add while writing wait on the note until you post it, with what you typed as their caption.
- Locked tags now sit right after what you're typing, as faded tags the new note will carry. Tap + to add another.
- Your default dashboard is simply whichever comes first.
Fixed
- Tapping a tag to filter your notes no longer opens the tag menu too.
Reductable 1.2.26
v1.2.26Updates get out of your way.
Added
- Assistants connected to the desktop app can now search, open, edit, move and delete notes.
Improved
- Update notices are easier to read, and everyday updates install quietly the next time Reductable starts instead of asking.
- Installing a desktop update no longer offers a second update straight after the restart.
- Home lists your notes in the order you created them.
Fixed
- Pressing Enter at the end of a note on Home adds a child under it, and splitting a top-level note keeps the note and its tags.
- Dragging a note stays in the pane you started in, and dropping it at the top level keeps it on its own date.
Reductable 1.2.24
v1.2.24Bringing a new device into your account takes one link.
Added
- Add a new device with one link: a fresh install shows a QR code and link, and opening it on a device you already use brings the new one into your account. No more typing 24 words.
Fixed
- Installing a desktop update no longer collides with one still downloading in the background.
Reductable 1.2.20
v1.2.20Your devices find each other in more places.
Improved
- A device that only reaches home from outside your network can now find your other devices — paste your own connection code into it.
Reductable 1.2.18
v1.2.18The desktop app keeps itself current from here on.
